My Smart Boy

Ok, this is totally a brag post, but I'm just so proud it has to happen!

Tonight Bruce and I were having a little chat while Aiden was doodling, and when we looked at what he was drawing we saw that he had written out "IAIddn" on a sushi menu.

He had written the letters to his name, just having added an I and doing his b's backwards.

AMAZING!

We haven't officially taught him how to write his letters but he spends a lot of time colouring and doodling with pencils, as well as using his finger to practice letters in the dirt or sand. We had no idea he could actually create them so well though. Wow!

He also loves to practice his spelling on the i-pod while going potty (great incentive to sit on the potty!), and knows how to spell potty, mommy, daddy, Aiden, my, play, oma, opa, cat, and a few more. He also recognizes (without necessarily being able to spell) just under 50 sight words, which he learned a few months ago, thanks to preschoolprep.com and their awesome videos.

Aiden is 2 1/2 years old this week, and Isabel is 11 months. Her first birthday is coming soon! How time flies...
